My name is Jan Jacob Mekes, and I'm a freelance writer and translator!

Okay. But what can you do for me?

Whatever you want me to... as long as it doesn't involve juggling while riding a unicycle, or balancing a broomstick on my forehead. Actually, I'm mostly specialized in writing.

What can you write about for me?

Since I studied history in university, that's a subject I am particularly specialized in. Another field of interest for me is (indie) video games; I especially enjoy reviewing games. But I love to learn new things, and I'm always willing to do so if it helps me complete a project for you! Oh, and before I forget, I also write (bespoke) fiction. Dat treft! Ik ben namelijk Nederlander van geboorte. Zie voor een voorbeeld van mijn schrijfstijl mijn Bachelorscriptie, die met een 9 werd gewaardeerd. Mocht u zich afvragen wat Lara Croft met geschiedenis van doen heeft: mijn specialisatie was Geschiedenis van Media en Communicatie; daarnaast heb ik de minor Sociology of Culture gevolgd. Maar wees gerust, ik voel me ook thuis in een archief! O ja, en vertalen doe ik ook.

Yes I'm okay, thank you, I was just writing in Dutch. Speaking of which, I also have experience translating from English to Dutch and vice versa.
